Apart from paying too much for a nissan maxima oem setup you can buy anywhere, along with no technical support or wiring diagrams included, it works ok for me. Had I known it was a maxima oem setup in the beginning I would have just purchased this from a local pepboys or online somewhere. I run a thermatic switch ($50 value) to control the fan along with a manual overide switch I have inside the center console. When I lived in phoenix it would have a hard time keeping cool at freeway speeds for prolonged times with the a/c on. On city streets, in traffic or at a standstill it was fine. Keep in mind, Phoenix is one of the hottest cities in the country so this is a true test of this setup and not everyone in a cooler climate would experience the same results. The most important thing to the success of electric fans working is wiring the fans properly,(correct gauge wire, proper ground, fuse, etc) and making sure your cooling system is running at peak efficiency, as well as your a/c system running the same. When the fans arent on and you are at a stop, the condensor has no air flowing through it, therefore your a/c cooling performance can suffer. The a/c condensor fan only comes on at certain conditions dependent on engine temp and other perameters. My z isnt a DD so this isnt a problem for me, however if this was, I would have more of an issue with this. At the end of the day, if Nissan put the mechanical fan in there for a reason. They wanted a reliable setup that would performa in all climate conditions. I would never attempt this setup on a daily driven TT, but on a an N/A it's not an out of the question modification. My two cents....
